In 1918 E.L. Cetwick, with his two sisters, made the move from Pennsylvania to Asheboro, NC to open the Cetwick Silk Mill. In operation until the mid-80’s, the iconic building over time became home to companies such as Burlington Industries and Klopman Mills. Its convenient location and accessibility made it a hub for much activity. The massive 125,000 square foot building boasts local Randolph County brick, metal trusses, ten foot windows and hardwood floors throughout.
After more than two decades of neglect, this historic property was purchased and brought back to light. The Cetwick, re-imagined and redefined was opened to the public in late 2013. Restored to its original and authentic environment, it is a perfect marriage of southern and urban. Rooted in the past, but renewed for the future, the Cetwick has become the venue of choice for weddings, social gatherings, charity events and corporate functions.
